About BKTF

One ecosystem.
A stronger voice.

Bharat Kheti-Tech Forum (BKTF) is an independent, inclusive and stakeholder-driven national platform seeking to unlock the immense value and potential of India's agritech sector. Established by respected professionals with backgrounds spanning government policymaking, agribusiness, civil society and academia, BKTF will bring together agritech startups and enterprises, farmer organisations, researchers, investors, technology providers and institutions. Alongside new-age agritech startups, BKTF will seek to discover, connect and support India's large and diverse universe of agriculture-linked MSMEs—enterprises that can be important drivers of innovation, value addition, employment and rural economic growth. The Forum will bring greater visibility to these enterprises and innovations while creating opportunities for collaboration, investment, partnerships and wider adoption.

BKTF will also provide the ecosystem with a credible collective voice on policy and regulatory issues. Through continuous engagement with members and stakeholders, it will identify emerging challenges and opportunities, develop evidence-based perspectives and engage constructively with government and policymakers. The goal is simple: connect the ecosystem, discover and showcase its potential, strengthen its voice, and help create an enabling environment for agritech and agri-MSMEs to deliver value at scale for Indian agriculture.

“The only member-led organisation in India uniquely representing the voice of the agritech sector.”
Why now

A defining moment for Indian agriculture

Agriculture still employs nearly half of India's workforce and contributes ~16–17% of GDP, yet suffers from low productivity, fragmented landholdings, weak market linkages and climate risks. Agritech has emerged as a key lever to transform the sector by improving productivity, reducing transaction costs and enabling data-driven farming.

What agritech includes

Digital advisory & precision farming

Market linkages & supply chain platforms

Farm mechanisation & IoT

Agri-finance, insurance & embedded fintech

Post-harvest logistics & food processing

India's agritech sector sits at approximately $974 million today, with over 2,700 DPIIT-recognised startups and lakhs of MSMEs — yet no unified body exists to represent them.

Our vision

Unlocking the $1 trillion opportunity in Indian agriculture

Bharat Kheti-Tech Forum seeks to unlock the $1 trillion opportunity in Indian agriculture by supporting agritech enterprises. BKTF will achieve its goal by:

Creating 50 million new jobs

Mainstreaming climate resilience in Indian agriculture

Enabling policy dialogue, market access and knowledge dissemination
